On the morning of October 11th, at "The Computing Conference 2017" in Hangzhou, Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) Innovative Center for Quantum Information and Quantum Physics (Shanghai) and Alicloud Released a Quantum Computing Cloud Platform. It is said that the platform includes a systematic architecture of quantum computing and a development and computing environment for quantum algorithms. It is aimed to cultivate industrial ecology and promote the industrialization of quantum computing and the implementation of quantum computing projects.

 

At present, the platform provides 25-qubit classical computing in a simulation environment. By the end of 2017, quantum computing based on ten superconducting qubits will be launched through this platform. At the meeting, Pan Jianwei, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and executive vice president of the University of Science and Technology of China, delivered a keynote speech entitled “New Quantum Revolution and Computing”. He predicted that coherent manipulation of several hundreds of qubits will be realized after 5-10 years of effort. At that time, the capacity to process special problems will be one million times as large as the total current computing power.

 

 

In addition, during the Infrastructure Rebuilding Session, Dr. Xie Chongjin, chief communication scientist at Alibaba Group, introduced the development of quantum communication technology in Alibaba, including several innovative applications of the quantum communication industry realized through cooperation with QuantumCTek.
