On November 13, 2018, Wuhan-Hefei Trunk Line, the first commercial extension line of China’s Quantum Communication Beijing-Shanghai Trunk Line project, was put into operation and maintenance, and began to access the National Quantum Backbone Network, in which Wuhan quantum communication site serves as an important hub. The Wuhan-Hefei Trunk Line was officially commenced in 2017 and fully completed in 2018. By applying world’s leading quantum secure communication technology, this project aims to serve the central region’s information security needs in key areas such as government affairs, finance, energy, data centers, aerospace and ports.
