On December 17, 2018, the “Physics” website, which is affiliated to American Physical Society, announced Highlights of the Year in the field of international physics in 2018, among which the research achievement of intercontinental quantum key distribution by “Micius” Quantum Experiments at Space Scale (QUESS) was included. In collaboration with Anton Zeilinger research group of Austrian Academy of Sciences, it was completed by the research team of Professor Pan Jianwei at the University of Science and Technology of China and his colleagues Peng Chengzhi et al., together with Wang Jianyu research group of Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics of CAS, Innovation Academy for Microsatellites of CAS, Institute of Optics and Electronics of CAS, National Astronomical Observatories of CAS, and National Space Science Center of CAS, etc.
